I have had the same problem with capturing in FCP this week in the middle of my project. I have an imac G5 (before the isight model) and FCP4. Five mins in and it freezes and the whole system crashes. When I start my computer again the clip that was capturing has ‘eaten up’ all my disc space (80GBs!!). I then have to delete this file and start again.

Ive literally just installed an extra 1GB of memory and I thought it had something to do with that as it started happening straight after. Could this be related?

Im in the middle of editing a project and dont really want to re-install FCP. What should I do? How do I re-install QT?

    Any help appreciated!

Well it seems there are a lot of us experiencing the same annoying problem. I have FCP4 with Mac OS X 10.3.9 and I’ve had no problems capturing for 3 years and now I can’t get past a few minutes.

And from what I’ve read there is no easy solution to revert back to the previous QuickTime version.

That said…what was the solution again? I’m a bit confused.

I sympathize with all you out there experiencing the same problem. Seems like if we didn

Does anyone know if the QT 7.5 update solves this ?

I would like to get back to my 10.4.11 and some sanity,
but I am not going for an update if it means I have to start
over with this messy problem, which Apple, frankly, should
    have sorted by now.
