Problem deinterlacing HDV in sony vegas 9 platinum
Having switched over to High Definition i am now seeing serious issues regarding playback of my HD files (m2t files) on my PC.
Any movement is accompanied by scan lines across the screen…a problem that i read is related to interlacing.
I tried to deinterlace clips using both the blend and interpolate methods under project properties (rendering to both avi and mpeg2 files) with no effect.
Only the ‘reduce interlace flicker’ option worked (under right click – ‘switches’)My concern is that this option may not be as effictive as the blend or interpolate methods. Maybe i’m losing more picture quality than necessary?
So my questions are:1. Why are ‘blend’ and ‘interpolate’ features not making any difference to my interlacing issue. Am i missing something when rendering?
2. Is ‘reduce interlace flicker’ a viable alternative without degrading picture quality unnecessarily?I’m eventually looking to output on to dvd, viewers could be watching this on any type of tv or PC (so i will have to deal with the interlace problem now)
I used a canon HV30 to capture in HDV 1080i mode.
