I’m currently using Prelude to ingest and transcode AVCHD footage to Prores (which seems like a really useful application). I created a preset in Media Encoder for this, but it doesn’t allow a frame rate setting of “same as source” when specifying QT/Prores settings. One can only specify one particular target frame rate per preset.

I find this problematic because I’ll often have cards that contain mixed frame rates. If I specify a folder/flash media card to ingest from, everything on the card or folder gets transcoded to one particular frame rate include those clips that were shot at another rate. If I don’t have a camera log, it’s a pain to find the original rate.

    Am I missing something?

Thanks for any insight on this.
