Problem creating 1920×800 (2.39) sequence in CS5
Hello!
I’ve completed my 1080p 24fps edit. I would like to upload to Vimeo a 2.39 widescreen. I was going to create a new sequence and make it 1920×800 and drop my completed sequence into it.
So under new sequence, I can’t find a way to create a custom 1920×800?
I selected the AVCHD 1080p 24 setting. Then under General it grays out my ability to change the resolution?
So I created the sequence as preset, hoping I could select its settings and adjust the resolution. Again no luck?
My main experience is with AE, which this is EASY to do.
Is there a way to unlock the grayed resolution?
A walk through would be appreciated!

You could do it in two ways (thinking off the top of my head)
1 – create a photoshop file with those dimensions, import it into Premiere Pro and then drag it to the ‘new item’ button at the bottom of the project panel. wouldn’t take into account audio and frame rate though…
2 – the more sure fire way would be as follows:– create new sequence (don’t click okay)
– go to general tab
– switch editing mode to desktop
– change aspect ratio to square pixel (1.0)
– change frame rate to whatever you need
– ditto for audio
– at the bottom left is a button to save it as a preset.Hope this helps,

igured it out. It is a silly impedement imposed by adobe. The preset that worked the best was AVCHD 1080p 24. But You can not alter the resolution. The key is to change the EDITING MODE under the general tab from AVCHD to something else, I chose DSLR, and like magic it unlocked the resolution setting and I was able to create my 2.39 widescreen preset.
