  • Problem capturing DV 24F footage

I am attempting to capture some footage using a Canon HV10 camcorder via firewire, but the footage appears to have been shot in standard DV 24F, according to the playback display on my camera. I’m using Final Cut Pro 6.0.5. The clips captured have lots of vertical pixel lines, particularly in areas of the picture that are brightly lit. It doesn’t seem to matter what my DV NTSC capture settings are, or the DV firewire device control preset option — I get the same lines every time. When I connect my Canon to an NTSC monitor and playback the tape, the footage looks fine, no lines. I have no idea what type of cameras were used on the shoot, so could it be that they were shot in 24fps, but not Canon’s unique proprietary format of 24F and 30F?

    Thanks,

    Cathy
