I have a Mac pro intel 3.0 ghz,

    King,

A transition requires footage from past the edge of the clip. If you use the last frame of a clip, the transition cannot extend beyond that point – as there is no material to draw from. The concept is called a ‘handle’ – the unused footage.

There are a couple of ways to deal with this. IF you use the blade tool and cut 15 frames off the ends (shortening both clips) you’ll be able to create a transition.

    Best,
