I just finished a project that only total about 12 minutes…but, the last 6 items i tried to put on the time line posed a problem. After adding the last few clips, the cursor seemed to be locked to the end of the clip. I could not place the cursor anywhere beyond the end of the clip. It seemed to be locked to the end of the last clip. If I saved and closed the project I could then re-open it and add another clip. Then the same thiing would happen. Save, close and re-open and I could add another clip. Any Ideas?

You should have a little room after the last event.

In any case, try moving the last event to the right, then back again, and see if that clears some work space.

Gary, is their a setting to limit the time line to a finite amount of time. I remember the old Fast Video Machine had an option to set the timeline to a certain length. After that you could do nothing else to the timeline. This problem only started toward the end of assembling 15 clips for a total of just under ten minutes. I have done many projects much longer than that in the past. Ijust thought it might be something simple like that and I just don’t know where to find that setting, if there is one. I tried scrolling past the end of the last clip and the cursor would move but as soon as I let go of it, it snapped back to the end of the clip. I tried clicking beyond the end of the clip and the cursor did the same thing.

The timeline is already infinite. You just can’t scroll very far past the last event. An easy way to do what you’re wanting, though, is to simply move the cursor to the end of the timeline and then double-click the next clip to be added. That will append it at the cursor location AND move the cursor to the new end. So you can simply repeatly double-click new clips.

Or you can select the clips you want added, right-click drag them to the timeline, and then choose the option to “add over time”.
