Hi there. I Just bought pro tools mbox 2 pro for my mac pro, and I’m having a bunch of problems right off the bat…but I’ll start with the first one.

After installing the sofware, i try launching it, but when it starts to load certain plugins, it stalls and then quits. If i go into the digidesign folder and delete these plugins, then protools opens fine, but I shouldn’t have to do that, should i?

    Thanks in advance.

Hello Kazden and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

Your new Mac Pro; is it running OS X 10.5?

There is no version of Pro Tools compatible with OS X 10.5 yet.

    Ahh! That’s it. I have 10.5

So, just to ease my mind…since I did spend the money on an mbox 2 pro….i’m assuming that eventually there will be a compatible version, and when there is, i’ll just have to buy the upgrade. is that right? if so, any idea on how long before that comes out?

    Thanks again!

    Hello Kazden,

Digidesign like to “get it right”, so as we speak there are people in in Alpha testing who have been working on this since before 10.5 was released to the general public.

As a digi user it’s good to keep in touch with the “mothership” by going to the site.

The Digidesign Users Conference (DUC) has been talking about this issue for several weeks.

    You’ll be fine.
