    Hi,

    Here’s the situation:

    1. Sometimes when i open Pro Tools and create a new session, make a new track (mono) and select the record option it suddenly peaks with loud static. The way to correct this is by restarting my machine and re-opening the program and then it seems to be fine. This tends to happen if i have been using other programs for awhile and then go to use Pro Tools.

    2. I only seem to be able to have 1 track that allows me to record on. When i make a secondary track and select the record option there is no recording response.

If you have any thoughts i welcome them.

    Cheers,
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
You really haven’t given us enough info about your setup for us to be of much help.
I have not encountered this before, but I’m thinking maybe an upgrade to the latest version might help.
In any event, try Digidesigns forum here:
    https://duc.digidesign.com
They have seen just about everything.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

Hello Dan and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

I am a PTLE user. 7.3.1 right now.

Something’s not right. Have you upgraded anything recently?
There is a list of things to do on the Digi website when stuff gets wacky.
The list may vary depending on the version and whether you’re on a Mac or PC.

I’d get that list, do the things on it and restart.

You may also have one corrupted production that simply won’t work anymore.

Try another one after you “take out the trash.”

    Regards,

    Ty Ford

Thanks for the prompts. I’ll look into their site and see if anything comes clear.
