Pro Res Import
I am trying to cut with a Pro Res file without success and this has occurred on my lap/desktop.
When I import the file and play it in the viewer it stutters (occasionally sticking on one frame).
But when I dragged the pro res file directly into the timeline, it played flawlessly. I’d rather not cut this way, though, because when I match frame it match frames to a different frame in the viewer. (and recently it shows me two different views of the same sequence depending on whether I’m playing it or scrolling through it)
Since the Pro Res file plays fine in Quicktime Player, why does FCP not play it back properly in the browser? I thought the import into the browser was just a link to the clip and therefore would not alter the playback of the clip in any way?
How can I import it without it stuttering?
Thanks!
Sequence setting: Editing Timebase 23.98, Compressor, ProRes422
The Pro Res 422 file is 23.98.
