Pro res and missing codec caused by text?
Hi everyone,
I have FCP 7, and towards the end of my timeline I’m getting “Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card”
Sequence settings are: ProRes422(HQ) and the problem starts occuring towards the end of my timeline where all I am using is text, not photos, but text which is dropped into the timeline from the viewer window. There’s existing text used in the timeline that doesn’t have this issue, this has never occured before but now seems to be a continuing problem. I’m able to render after switching from 10 bit to 8 bit YUV but I’m not sure why this is happening.Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi Juliana,
Try using the “Boris 3D” instead of the default Text tool.
That has worked for me some times.
