I have a potential client who wants to do a series of YouTube videos. I’m thinking I’d like to create a template for him and then teach him how to drop his footage into the bookends. I’d create the intro/outro, put a backing track down and a lower third, then show him how to do the rest as he goes. I thought Davinci Resolve might be a good solution for him to use since it’s free, but after toying around with it, I see it won’t import avi files and that’s how I always export my lower thirds from AE so I can utilize the alpha channel.

Anyone have any experience with Premiere Elements? It’s relatively cheap and I’m wondering if it would work.

You could also do your elements as Quicktime with PNG compression. Lossless, and they would look fine.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
