Pro camcorder formats
Posted by Nigel on November 1, 2005 at 9:17 amI know it’s not really relevant to FCP, but as I use FCP and it is not brand specific I thought I’d post here.
Can anyone point me to a link/site that lists all the camcorder formats from Mini-DV, DVCAM, HDV, D9, Digibeta, DVCProHD etc that has a little bit of information about each one i.e. lines/resolution etc.
Thanks

November 1, 2005 at 7:53 pmI’m afraid Adam only covers Mini-DV and DVCAM, no mention of any other format.

Google takes a fraction of a second to locate hundreds (if not thousands) of relevant sites.

November 1, 2005 at 10:53 pmWrong:
I did a google search for:
“pro camcorder formats”
“professional camcorder formats”and nothing came up that covered HD, HDV, DVCPROHD, XDCAM, D9 or Digibeta.
All Google came up with was Mini-DV and DVCAM.
So, I thought I’d check here, where the professionals hang out.
I know Adam’s site, and I totally admire the guy, but he too only seems to cover the basic Mini-DV and DVCAM formats.
What I am looking for is a long chronological list of all the digital formats from Mini-DV right through to HD-George Lucas and everything in-between, about 15 or so in total including the ones I mentioned.
I have been researching this for a couple of weeks, these posts are my last resort.

November 2, 2005 at 12:17 amI know you are not stupid, but it does appear that way. Type Videotape Formats.
