I want to use a 3d object with textures from Turbo Squid. Before I order the model I want to be sure it will integrate with PA as I have only worked with illustrator generated models. How does PA handle the textures ? Will they import and be correctly linked and look like the example pictures on Turbo Squid’s website or need special setting up to achieve that ? Or is it something that should be comped in AE 7 ( which I have yet to do use with more than a text object (as I am an AE newbie ) or can it be easily handled in the standalone version ?

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Make sure that your object was exported with the UV coordinates. Just ask the TS people.

You only “comp” your textures if you need to alter them or simply create new ones using AE tools.

What kind of object are you after?

    Salut.

    Hi Serge,
It is a shure microphone object. I don’t think I will need to tamper with the textures. I am a newbie to this stuff so exuse the question but what are the UV co-ordinates ?

    Thanks for the help,
    Richard

[richard] “but what are the UV co-ordinates ?”

I couldn’t explain it better, so here you go:

As to the mic in case TS don’t have the right thing for you just let me know as I may have a simillar mic that could fit your needs and it’s native ProAnimator/Invigorator.

Thanks for the explanation link. The Old Mic model is gorgeous but not suitable for my project. I will keep it in mind for other projects. In addition to the the Invigomany vol I package ( which I am going to order for training), do you have a database of native PA objects? It might be a good resource to have some kind of database of models which people could access and share with others. I want to incorporate 3d into my compositing work but don’t have the desire to build complex models.

Thanks again for your help. This is a great forum..
