Pro 9 – Getting Video Off Camera???
Posted by Ray Jender on June 9, 2009 at 12:22 amI’m trying to learn the ins and outs of Sony Vegas.
I have a Sony SR11. There is a .MTS clip on it.
How do I import or read it into Vegas?
Each time I try something it says cannot open it?
It does this with .MTS files I have on the computer already!
Any ideas?

June 9, 2009 at 3:14 amOk, figured it out.
For cryin out loud…Sony Vegas wants a Sony .m2ts format file and
not .MTS!!!I have to use Sony Picture Motion Browser to pull it off the Sony camera.
It does some magic and creates a Sony .m2ts!!!Like I said before, the cheapo Cyberlink will let me drag and drop
the Sony .MTS files!!!Notice everything is Sony’s!!!! 🙂
Takes a bit more time but alls well….

June 9, 2009 at 10:57 amRay, forget about the software that came with the camera (it’s junk). Just plug your SR11 into your computer and in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 use View | Device Explorer and you should have no problems getting you video from your camera.

June 9, 2009 at 9:27 pmVegas Pro 9.0 should be able to read your .mts files. I have Sony HDR-CX12 and it reads mine just fine. If your Vegas can’t read .mts files perhaps the installation is corrupt and you should re-install? It is also possible that the Cyberlink software is conflicting with Vegas. This should just work.
