Just update to the new x64 511 build.
I find that memory usage on playback is through the roof.

When it fires up its about 450mb. When I open the project it goes to 1.1gb.

When I play the video it then continually grows to 4gb. If I replay the same video it just heads further up, up to the full 7.98gb usage.

    Anyone else have this issue.

My system is set to use on 3500mb, not sure why its going so high. Its a real pain as when it gets that night it starts thrashing the disk, slowing the whole thing right down

I just updated to 511 and am not having any sort of memory issues what-so-ever.

I would double check to see what the amount of dynamic-ram preview memory you have set as Vegas will start to use that while going through its playback process.

If on Win7 go into Task Manager and then click on the Resource Manager and watch the tab for memory. See what happens there as it lists the amount used, amount allocated to processes, amount reserved, etc etc.

I can confirm its set to 3500mb (preview dynamic RAM).

It addition, all the information above was gathered using the Task Manager.

It doesn’t seem to matter what I set the preview dynamic RAM value to. It was initially set to 1000mb as recommended else where on the web, however, it shot through that to 7.89 gb of use.
I re set it to 3500mb and it did the same thing.

Could NewBlueFX or other transitions cause this to happen? i have had issues with NBFX3 causing Vegas to crash quite frequently.

    HI John:

Unless anyone else has any suggestions, I suppose one thing to try is making up a quick video using some of the effects you have in your current project that’s causing issues.

If you experience the same memory problems, that would point to the effects you’re using.

If you don’t experience the problems, then that would point to the project causing issues with Vegas somehow.

    Let us know.

    -Dave
