    Hi,

Question: Is it possible to “print” effects in Final Cut Pro. Meaning tell the application to render effects into clips. This would be similar to telling protools to print an audio effect or maya to bake a texture. I’d like to do this for several reasons. 1 is to smooth the editing process post color correction an effects tweaking and the second is that I’m using automatic duck to take the sequence into combustion and it doesn’t work with certain plugins.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Moo.

YOu would have to export the rendered clip as a self contained, reimport that back into your project, replace the rendered shot with the newly exported media, and then export the XML for autoduck and make sure you hold on to those self contained exports you did. This will cause you to lose all references to the original time coded clip with the fx on it and the exports then become your master media.

That’s what I figured. I wound up nesting the sequences with color correction and batch exporting. Apple should address this. There should be a button that turns off color correction universally and at least a nesting feature that renders (bakes, prints) fx into clips.

    my 2cents.

    Agreed. Time well tell.
