printing 16:9 to tape
Hi,
I have this annoying problem:
I have edited this 16:9 footage. When I put it into FCP it automatically figured out the corrct ratio. However now when I print it to tape it automatically letterboxes it. The FCP support pages say that unless I specifically letterbox it myself it should transfer the footage as is. But it doesn’t. No matter what I do it puts the black bars on top and bottom.
Any ideas?

You said that your footage was 16:9. OK, so how do you expect it to look on a 4:3 screen? Are you wanting a center-punch? Otherwise about your only option would be to letterbox. Or are you looking for anamorphic output?
