  • Print to Video with HDV material by firewire doesn’t work?

    Hi all.
I am trying to Print to Video in FCP 6. I want to print a timeline of HDV material back to my Sony FX1. The sequence setting is 1080i50 and my camera is connected by Firewire and in VCR mode.

When I start the Print to Video a window pops up saying:

The selected audio and video devices may not match:
    -HDV (1440 x 1080) 50i
    -Default

Please verify that the audio and video outputs are externally routeed to the intended device(s).

    Do you want to proceed?

I click ok and FCP conforms HDV and after that I can start. I press play on my camera when it’s in VCR mode and press ok when a window prompts for camera playback.

Picture rolls on the screen but nothing happens on my camera.
Why doesn’t it work? Do I have wrong settings or am I doing wrong on my FX1?
    Thank you all in advance

Is it simply a case of having to press record on your camera? As i understand it “print to video” is the “crash record” equivalent and so might need to be done manually .
