Hello, pretty novice question –
I am trying to export a sequence to a miniDV tape, using Print to Video. There doesn’t seem to be any communication between my miniDV deck and computer though — I press record on the deck when prompted by FCP and it just records a blank screen. I don’t see the images from my computer on the deck screen at all.
I’m assuming it’s just a wrong mode I’m in, but can’t figure out what to switch? Thanks, April

Check the following.
Is there an enormous amount of black in front of your sequence?
have you told FCP to go through the Abrs and tone and slate process and set paramteres that have affected teh output?
Not many details in your post so this is all a hunch. I normally would not respond to a post like this because there is not enough background.

I figured it out through another forum, thanks anyway. (Easy Setup > DV NTSC)

Try going to Menubar -> View -> Refresh A/V devices.
If it takes a 2 seconds for it to finish than it probably found something.
After you might want to go to Menubar -> View ->External Video -> All Frames
if you can’t click it(Disabled), then FCP can’t find the Deck.
Also make sure that there isn’t multiple decks or cameras plugged in(the Quicktime library can handle multiple Inputs through a Array, but FCP doesn’t seem to have this feature).
