Every time I Print to tape, FCP rolls the deck for almost 4 seconds before it begins to record. This causes my timecode to differ on the tape. When I go back later to insert edit, I have to mathematically subtract the timecode differences in order to be frame accurate. Is there a setting I can change to make it automatically record When it begins to roll the tape? I’m running 4.5 with decklink SP and I’m resetting the timecode on the SP deck before I begin to print. what am I doing wrong? Thanks

Are you forgetting about pre roll?

Why would it pre-roll on a record edit? I’m not inserting. Plus, its not exactly 3 seconds, its more like 3:28. I edited on M100 for 8yrs, and when I made a record edit, it started recording immediately. Maybe its a FCP and Avid thing. Kind of annoying though.

You should be using Edit to Tape, not print to video for frame accurate inserts & assemble edits.
