print to tape problem in vegas 6
Posted by John Corino on October 11, 2006 at 7:52 pmI had vegas 5 and it worked fine when I had to PTT. I bought Vegas 6 a while back and now when I try to print to tape, it is all faded and wont let me click on anything. I went to print device and set that to the firewire and made sure my camera was turned on and everything but nothing. anyone know why that is?

October 11, 2006 at 8:15 pmSome cameras have a switch (usually in a menu) that changes the port from input to output and back. Could this have gotten changed on your camera?

October 11, 2006 at 9:53 pmI have the same problem using a panasonic NV-DV 2000 deck. I can capture but not ptt.
Sony techs said: change firewire port.
However, using the standard windows editing program, I can print to tape without any problem -

October 12, 2006 at 2:46 pmI dont think its the camera because I’ve tried 2 different cameras. It also works fine in vegas 5. I can PTT fine in something like movie maker also.

October 12, 2006 at 2:48 pmI am not doing that. I’m just using the default PTT option, NTSC DV and I didn’t mess with any of the other settings. Its very weird.

October 12, 2006 at 6:59 pmno, that’s not it. i have had problems like that before where the camera would turn off like that, but that’s not the case. i borrowed a friend’s camera today to see if that would help. I plugged in the firewire before i booted the computer up. the computer said it recognized it, but when I went to PTT, everything was faded and I couldn’t click on anything. it worked fine with vegas 5. there must be something wrong in the settings, but i made sure the print device is connected with firewire in the preferences. i have no clue what the deal is.
