    Hello all,

How do I turn this, Finder’s list view file structure

    into an editable text file?

Ideally it would look similar to a list view file tree, include date created, date modified, size, etc. and would include all subfolders and files.

I’ve been messing around in terminal and BBedit and I can get close to what I want, but not exactly. Either the structure is right, but doesn’t include date created, etc., as is the case with BBedit,

or like when I use Terminal and the command “ls -alR > dir_and_sub_dir.txt” most of the data is there, but the structure is more like a straight list and doesn’t include the year, not to mention being a little hard to follow compared to the first image.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help.

I am pretty sure you could do this with a bash script, ask around on a unix or bash forum or something.

    Hi Pasi,

    Thanks for the response.

I posted the same question on the Apple forum and someone suggested a program called “Print Window” and it worked like a charm.
