I am having an issue using a plane in Invig to catch the shadow of a sphere also generated in Invig. It catches just fine as standard color but as soon as I change it to shadow catcher, my shadow disappears.

    Hi Jim.

Is your plane rotated by 90 degrees in the X axis?
    Rotate it -90 degrees instead.

There’s a limitation with planes where the rotation direction matters.

Let us know if you’re still experiencing the problem.

    Matt,

That was it. Did I miss something in the docs on this? Just wondering what else I should be looking into?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jim.

You didn’t miss anything. This was a special case that never made it into the bug fix list.

It’s something we should mention in the Shadow Catcher section.

Let us know if you have more questions.
