Hi, I am new to Premiere Pro and am trying to learn it. I have encountered a problem with it that I would really like to fix. I have a movie that I imported into it and dropped onto the timeline and when I go to preview it in the monitor, it only plays the video, not the audio track thats a part of it. It’s weird cause I see the video and the audio tracks on the timeline but it will only show the video. I know that the audio isnt messed up cause I dropped the file onto the source monitor (the left one) and it played the audio and the video. Aswell, with the audio/video tracks in the timeline I then dropped a music file ontop of that and it played the video and the music, but not the audio track. I must have done something wrong somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Schuby

Is the movie a DV AVI Type2 taken directly from a video camera, or did you download some less than optimum video from somewhere?

What kind of movie? source and extension, movie is a generic term that can address a multitude of media, also the term AVI is just as generic as movie.

If there’s a firewire cable plugged in to
your PC and it’s connected to a camera
or VTR etc., then unplug it, because PPro
is probably routing the audio through that.
