  • Previewing animated After Effects ffx files in Bridge CS6

So I’ve upgraded to After Effects CS6 from CS5.5, but now when I try to preview the animated preset effects (for text animations) in Bridge CS6, none of the .ffx files animate for me. They just sit there and there’s no video-style player to be found for previewing. Oddly enough, when I open the same folder with my older Bridge CS5.5, the files animate as expected. What do I need to set in Bridge CS6 so that I can preview the ffx preset files?

Ensure that the Preview Panel is opened in Bridge. Look under the Window menu.

The preview panel is definitely open. The preview of the text effect just sits there as if it’s a still image. When browsing video files like MOVs and MP4s, those play back like you would expect, but something weird is going on with FFX files it seems.
