Preview Window in Vegas Issue
Okay… I’ve told others how to get the proper aspect ratio setting in the preview window (project prefs, etc.) But here’s a twist:
I opened a project I had previously finished to go back and make a shorter version. I had done just one project after this which had
a 4:3 proj pref. and am not sure if this caused the former 16:9 project to preview a compressed image.I have checked the project prefs, image properities…etc… everything is at NTSC DV Widescreen setting BUT the preview window image is squished. The kicker is the firewire preview…looks fine on widescreen. SOooooooo what am I missing? Anyone? I’ve closed, rebooted opened project and same deal. I can’t shake the squished preview image.

Right-click on the preview window and make sure that Simulate Device Aspect Ratio is checked.

Thanks John, that did the trick. Don’t know why or how this setting got changed as I’m the only one on this machine and work in 16:9 exclusively. Opened the last project which was in 16:9 and it was squished. Weird but thanks for the tip.
