  • Preview Trouble AE CC 2018!

I’m working with an animation file in AE CC 2018.

The problem is- Pressing space bar, shift+spacebar, Num 0 or clicking the preview button on the preview bar will Ram preview the composition only once. If i stop the preview and go ahead and work on the file and come back to preview my work (by any of the means mentioned above) AE just wont preview- in fact the scroll bar jumps one frame backwards and just stops. no matter how many times i press space bar or Num 0- AE just wont preview!!

The only way to preview is to restart AE- but again Preview will work only once and I have to restart AE if i want to preview!

This is super annoying and I just can’t seem to figure this out.

Some background- The computer I’m working on is a Windows 7, i7 3rd gen 3370, GtX 660 4gb ram, 16gb ram which was upgraded only yesterday with a 240gig SSD (with Windows 10 pro) and 16 more GB of Ram for a total of 32 GB ram and is now running AE CC 18

any help will be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

More symptoms I have noticed are

    1. Premiere Pro CC 2018 also wont play/preview when I press Space bar
    2. Online Videos aren’t playing on any Web browser
    3. Installed After effects CS6- Preview works just fine- no issues at all
    4. After effects CC 2018 preview issue still persists

What could be causing all this? Is it to do with the Ram upgrade on this computer? or the video card? or is it just an Adobe CC issue?

    any help is much appreciated

    Thanks

Given that you’re having video playback issues over a number of applications, I’d first suggest re-installing your GPU drivers.

    Greetings,

I don’t know if you resolved it but in case you didn’t or someone else’s still facing this problem… Go to audio settings then put the audio latency to a higher number. This should fix the problem.
