Preview scaling problems – Really need help with this.
I’m hoping someone could help me with this. It’s regarding the preview on my computer monitor.
Sometimes on playback the preview seems to ‘change’ sporadically. What’s it’s doing is firstly it plays back fine and then it ‘cuts’ into a scaled version of the image.
For example.
A wide shot of a landscape and a boat in the foreground. First you see the whole shot then all of a sudden you see just the boat as if there’s an actual cut in the footage and the cameraman has stopped recording the wide shot, zoomed up to the boat and started again.
It also does this when I highlight an event and hold ALT while I drag left right on the clip to get the split screen in/out view. Inside the view the preview can sometimes scale itself to whatever size it feels like.
I can’t edit like this because I don’t know if the footage has cuts in it or if the preview window is re-scaling to whatever it wants to. This is very annoying. It does it a lot.
Now, I have my preview set to ‘preview quality’ and AUTO and the last version I’ve seen that this problem HASN’T happened is Vegas 6.0b.
I was happily using 6.0b for ages and when I tried 6.0c I started to see the above issue so I quickly went back to 6.0b and have been happy since.
Now, I installed Windows Vista and have no choice but to use Vegas 7.0e which I thought by now this preview problem would be fixed but it isn’t.
Has anyone heard of or have experienced anything like what I’m describing?
