Preview rendering time …?
Hmm, not really sure which forum to post this in but ‘Adobe Premiere Pro’seems fairly generic 🙂
OVERVIEW: I’m creating a 4-layered greenscreened comp in After Effects using footage exported from a Premiere Pro Project, adding a couple of effects and lights.
OBSERVATION: If I edit the comp, then switch back to PP to do a preview render, I notice it takes around 10 minutes to prepare. However, if I make a RAM-preview in After Effects that takes around 5 minutes to complete. Then if I switch back to PP and make a preview it only takes a few seconds to prepare.
Clearly PP is using the RAM-preview from AE to compile it’s own preview …
Can anyone suggest a reason why the After Effects engine A) renders faster and B) why PP shouldn’t be capable of the same performance? If the memory settings are shared between the two apps then surely the same timescales should apply?
Grateful for any insights!
