  • PREVIEW QUALITY alters your Pan/Crop locations! Why?

    Hi guys,

I’m noticing that the PREVIEW QUALITY you select for your Preview screen affects not only the clarity/resolution of what you see…

…it also can show your PAN/CROP locations in noticeably different spots…

e.g. An object stationed perfectly on your PAN/CROP grid, when viewed in FULL (quality) mode, may appear shifted away significantly from its intended location when viewed in DRAFT mode.

This kinda caused me a heart-attack at first…. (In my current work, I’ve got nested projects galore, and at this late point, editing is no longer the walk-in-the-park it was at its earlier stages) then I discovered it wouldn’t be a problem in the final render. (-:

Have you noticed this? Why is this, I wonder?

I’m not complaining, just want to know why this should be.

    Thanks, DAVE

No, it doesn’t change the location, it merely changes the speed at which you see them. If you’re viewing in Draft mode (which often is less efficient for playback, BTW), then you’re likely seeing keys exactly where they should happen. In say…Best/full, your machine might be buffering or unable to smoothly pass that time marker.
    What is your source material?
SHIFT+B will always allow you to see what’s happening no matter what.
