    Hello all,

For the first time I’m trying to use the multicam editing mode in Vegas Pro 11. It almost works nicely.

I have 2 monitors on an Nvidia GeForce 210 card. I’m trying to use the second monitor for full frame viewing while using the regular preview window to look at both cameras. It almost works. When I enable “Video preview on external monitor” I can see both cameras in the regular preview window but there’s a rapidly flickering message “Preview on external monitor – (Frame Recompressed)” message that interrupts the view of the 2 cameras in the regular preview window. The full-frame view on the second monitor is fine. If I unselect “preview on external monitor” the multicam preview then looks fine but I can’t see the full frame output. So I have my choice of a full-frame preview or a decent multicam preview but not both.

I haven’t found any way to eliminate this problem, if I could just get rid of the flickering message in the multi-cam preview all would be perfect.

Am I just missing something obvious?

I have not found a way to fix this problem. It has
been there ever since the ability to display
multi-view and the program output at the same time.

I reported it to Sony but I couldn’t get past the bottom
level of tech support. The tech support person wasn’t
very familiar with video editing and just barely understood
the problem. It took more than a month to exchange five
emails and in the end it was just a waste of everyone’s
    time.

So figure out a workflow that doesn’t require seeing
the multicam and the program out at the same time.

Ouch. That’s pretty bad IMHO. Do you know if the problem persists in Vegas 12?

Busted software combined with a company that doesn’t listen does not inspire me to keep sending them my money. This problem doesn’t keep me from editing, it just makes a potentially great feature very annoying.

Oh, well, thanks for the quick response.

You could try a 3rd party multicam tool like our VASST infinitiCAM. You can download a 15-day free trial and check it out. VASST Ultimate S Pro also has a 4 camera multicam tool.

I had the same problem, but after tinkering with settings, it became fine.
