  Preview moniter and HDV

  I am using Final cut 5 and a Kona 2 card. My preview moniter is a regular Television hooked up with a composite rca cable to my K-box.
  I have been working with DV timelines and the preview moniter works great. Now when I am switching over to HDV timelines I am only getting the current frame showing, I can scrub the timeline and view it all that way but I cannot hit play and watch the footage. I have tried several setting options (in FCP) but the settings I am using (same as a DV pal timeline) is the only that is even giving me this much.
  Should I be changing settings in the Kona control panel?
