Preview lag & skip next frame not working.
When I play preview on an un-editted clip/video there is a huge amount of lag, the preview video doesn’t run smooth at all. Sometimes when I pause the video my Sony vegas stops working completely.
Also, when I skip frame by frame, it stays on the same frame until the next 50th maybe even 100th frame
Has anyone had this problem, and do you know of any fix?

Did this just started happening and which Vegas version is it?
At the same time, try right click in the preview window and uncheck
Adjust size and quality for optimal playback.Steve Rhoden

Another trick I find that works is to change your video preview quality and then change it right back. So, if you are using Preview/Auto, drop it down to Draft and then right back up to where you had it before. Suddenly the preview will play at full frame again (for a while).

It’s happened as soon as I installed. I have Vegas Pro 11.
I’ve tried unchecking like you said but didn’t do anything. -

Yup, it is good to use instead of the Adjust Size and Quality feature if you don’t want to view a lower resolution preview. The downside is you have to stop what you’re doing and manually change it.
