preview lag
Preview Lag is awful on Vegas pro 17 thro 19. I have tried ALL the tips on YT videos and none make a difference (especially with 4 k). Just downloaded (trial) of Magix’s Video Pro x16…no issue with lag on preview with 4k (4:2:2) whatsoever, no issue with it on Capcut’s preview either, so it’s not my machine which has 64gb RAM and a very fast processor to boot. All codecs are up to date etc. Can anyone suggest why Vegas Pro preview is so crappy by comparison, and any solution(s) beyond the ones commonly mentioned in on line tutorials?

Have you tried playing around with the video resolution or preset to fix the lagging issues? Sometimes I notice this happening to me as well. Here are some of the steps you can follow to see if it helps your video preview improve upon the lag:
- Disable hardware acceleration in the settings. You can access the settings by right-clicking on the preview window and selecting “Preferences”. Uncheck the “Enable GPU Acceleration of Video Preview” option.
- Disable any third-party plugins or extension that may affect the preview. These could be causing conflicts.
- Clear the “Render Cache” in Vegas Pro. You can do this by right-clicking on the preview window and selecting “Clear Render Cache”.
- Revert to an earlier version of Vegas Pro. You can do this by downloading an earlier build from the Vegas Pro download page.
