I dont not know what is wrong with my final cut pro. I try to use the the capture and log feature to digitize my tape, but the video wont show up and all I get is Preview Disabled. The time code is still functioning, so im thinking it couldn’t be the firewire cable. I do not know whats wrong, please help me.

    Thank you

Check your clip settings tab and make sure you don’t have “Audio Only” checked. It can sometimes toggle to that on it’s own I’ve found.

No it has both video and audio. I would also like to add that my video playback is missing in Audio/Video settings. So could there be a problem with that some how?

First of all, toss your prefs. That should cure it.

IMHO, I personally don’t care what is in the Log and Capture window as picture shows up nicely on my video monitor WHILE I’m logging. My eyes are focused there, not on the tiny Log and Capture Window. Please don’t tell me that you are not using one!

Always connect your system up to spec with video monitor and speakers connected to the DV Deck or Camcorder, not the Mac. See page 55 of the manual.
