preview disabled
Hi,
When I go to capture, I have deck control and everything but the screen always comes up saying preview disabled.
How do I get a prevview to work?

First of all, connect a video monitor. Preview is never disabled there. Many do not work with a monitor while capturing. I don’t know why….
Secondly, trash your FCP Prefs files. That will usually get your preview to kick back in.
If you are daisy chaining a cam to a FireWire drive, that can also cause this problem. Most people need to get a PCI card (tower) or PCMCIA card(PowerBook) to put the cam/deck and drives on separate buses.
