Preview Button Function
Preview non working. I created several new videos. The preview button will not work. On existing videos it will work, and it works on sound. The return to beginning arrow works, and if I move the timeline the video works fine. All of my figures are PSD files.

I uninstalled and reinstalled AE. All buttons on the preview panel work except the (center) play button.

Yo Bob, to solve this issue for you I need 3 things:
_a screenshot of the exact button you refer to as “center button”
_your CPU model and amount of ram
_the resolution and frame rate of your footage and composition

Here is the data you asked for. Everything worked fine until yesterday. I will greatly appreciate it if you can help. BTW, I can export to RU and create a video that plays fine.

it’s possible that your cpu and or your ram are too slow to execute a preview, so after you press it, it’s just struggling. Try to press 0 on the num pad or spacebar, it if happens also with those, the issue is what I told you, otherwise, you need to downgrade to an After Effects version at least 6 months older.

WOW! Nothing happened with the space bar (which I had tried a number of times before, BUT….the #1 did the trick. The arrow still doesn’ work, but the # is great
