    Hey All,

I am wondering if preview has improved for those of you who have gotten Vegas 10. I work in HDV 1080i (1440×1080). The absolute MOST important thing I need is smooth video preview. I ALWAYS have to render out to see what my video looks like, and it is a pain. Even RAM previews don’t give me the flow I need to see very small wiggles and such…so I would like to know if they have improved on this…thanks guys!!

    Regards

Video preview has improved depending on your source media. You still need to have a capable PC but it has gotten better for AVC/h.264 formats.

I have a Core 2 Quad 2.4 ghz, 4 gig RAM, with an MSI motherboard. I am looking to upgrade, but want to be sure to stick with Vegas before I do. I do a lot of multicam 5-20 camera angles and I DO NOT use the multicam feature but tracks with composite envelopes. You stated depends on source material…is it better with HDV 1080i? Thanks John!!

    OK, short test this morning.

I have a quad-core HP desktop that has just barely enough horsepower to edit HDV and get real-time preview.

I have an HDV project that has a lot of effects and compositing that brings this system to its knees in Version 9. I had to do RAM preview because changes on the timeline took seconds to show up in preview.

Version 10 – world of difference. I can use the scroll wheel on this project and I get full-speed previews even on events with six NewBlue FX and two Sony FX.

This is turning out to be the best upgrade of Sony Vegas yet.

I would download the trial and see for yourself on your hardware. That’s the only real way of knowing what it can do for you.

I sure hope so cause the blurry world of ADCHD draft half-quality is getting old, heck if I can just get it to Draft FULL quality it’ll be worth it:-0

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
