    Hoping you can assist
I am using Pro 8(c) to edit a range of digital footage (SD and HDV). Despite setting preview quality to “Best”, the image is nowhere near as sharp or clear as when I view the respective clip in the Trimmer. Fast movements are characterised by shadows/trails within Preview, however, are as sharp as the original in Trimmer

Are you rendering a RAM preview for a short section (Shift+B in a loop area)? That should give you a true look at your output in motion.

Two other thing that comes to mind: (1) it might be that the trimmer window isn’t showing the actual pixels, but is showing a reduced resolution proxy that is just sharper simply because it’s smaller or (2) your project properties don’t match whichever clip you are looking at, meaning that in the trimmer you are seeing a DV25 clip, but in the final project you are seeing the same DV25 clip upscaled to 1080i (or whatever), where it will look softer.
