  preview 1080p on lower res monitors slow CS?

  I’m considering getting a new non-retina MBP. My plan was to put the timeline on the external monitor and preview on the MBP’s screen. But, I heard that editing 1080p video will cause a slowdown since this MBP’s maximum resolution is 1,680 x 1,050. There was something about the GPU having to resize the video.

  Is there anything to this? Thanks for any help!
