    Hi,
    I am editing with Avid MC v2.5.3 and using a PNY VCG7300GXPB GeForce 7300GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card
Everything has been working fine for about 6 months. All of a sudden I turned on my PC, started up Avid and opened an old project. The video in the source and record monitor turns darker when I press play. When I scrub or just have it not playing the color is fine. I usually pass through a sony DSR11 DVCAM deck and view the video on a monitor. The video changes color in the Source & Record monitor when the DV deck is both on and off.
I have tried searching the forums for similiar problems but could not find anything. Before I start downloading and installing drivers I will like to get some help. Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix it? It started happening out of no where.
    Thank you

It looks like your video card is not on the ‘approved’ list:

It doesn’t mean it won’t work, just that Avid doesn’t offer technical support (including the knowledge base on their website).

The problem you are experiencing is related to the card settings and ‘overlay’. You can search the either the COW or Avid forums for the term overlay, and hopefully you can find someone with your card who experienced your problem. You can either live with it, Or you can buy a supported card. I definitely wouldn’t go changing drivers.

    Thank you Jon.
I’ll be sure to check the list before buying any new hardware.
