So I am currently knees deep in a HUGE project in Vegas Pro 12. Ii don’t know when this changed, but the first thing I noticed about Pro 12 is that the presets you save for say, a color correction, are now organized in alphabetical order, instead of in the order of creation. This is really slowing me down and the deadline is extremely soon, and this inconvinience sets me back like 30 seconds every couple minutes, and when you are editing all night, that really REALLY adds up. I probably will waste (more realistically) like 10 minutes every hour just looking through color presets, trying to sight in on each alphabetized letter category, then fishing through them carefully to find a preset that I JUST MADE! It was much easier when I just went to the bottom of the list and there it was.

    Thanks!!

Something that would be awesome is if you could email your answer to Ma*********@**ve.com as well as in a reply here, as Creative cow forced me to create a new email that I can’t check on my phone, and won’t let me use my primary, 24/7 email address, which is the one I have listed above.

I have run into this type of problem with MS Word, where I have a huge directory of files, but several that I use quite frequently. I have to hunt for the file I need, which may be way down in the alphabetized list. The way I get around that, and I see no reason why you can’t do the same with your Vegas presets, is to name them by a convention that automatically alphabetizes them to the TOP of the list. As an example, I renamed my Word files from “FAX with Logo”, “Letter with Logo”, “Monthly Rental Review”, “Payment Agreement” files to “0-FAX with Logo”, “0-Letter with Logo”, “0-Monthly Rental Review”, “0-Payment Agreement”. Now when I open my file list, these files are alphabetically at the start of my file list. I believe you should be able to do the same type of thing with naming your Vegas presets.

That’s a good idea! I did something a bit similar, by adding a “z” in front. The problem is that there is a point when you fill up that “0” category so much, its just as cluttered as without it. I’ll do this temporarily though! Thanks for the reply! 🙂
