    Howdy.

Apologies if this answer already exists, but I have yet to find a good resolution for this problem:

We have incoming C500 field footage which is awesome. Some clips are spanned, which is fine.

Our objective is to rewrap the spanned clips into one file. We can do this already either with the XF utility, or with Adobe’s Media Encoder (Premiere Pro, etc).

Our problem is that Canon’s XF utility and Adobe’s process does not propagate (preserve) important metadata, even something as basic as “create date”.

In Adobe’s case, this is so, even if “Preserve Metadata” is specifically selected. This may be due in part because the metadata is preserved in the sidecar file, not the resulting MXF.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If there’s a tool out there that will copy/paste the metadata from one file to the other, that would be helpful, since in any given week, only a few dozen clips are spanned.

    With thanks,
