  • Preserving Layers exporting from Illustrator to Photoshop

A client has supplied me with a cmyk .eps file, with all the layers I need.

I own Illustrator but rarely open it and don’t “get it.” When I export from Illustrator to Photoshop, many of the layers which are nice and separate in Illustrator are collapsed into just one layer in Photoshop.

How can I preserve all layers, exporting from AI to PSD?

    Thanks!

Make sure the layers are release in the Layers palette (not idented) otehrwise use the release layers command in AI layers pallete and pull them out of the nested set.
