  • Preserving colours in compressed videos – will there ever be a solution?

I’ve tried every setting under the sun to maintain the colour when converting from my original Quicktime Uncompressed file to MP4/HEVC.

I’ve tried all of the High10, Rec. 2020 Color Primaries options, and even applied a few different LUTs, but there still doesn’t seem to be a decent solution to preserving colour and reducing file size of videos after all this time.

I’m hoping to upload a new logo animation to Instagram – Obviously I’m not going to be able to upload an uncompressed QT file to my phone to upload to Instagram, and the colour of the MP4 is just horrible, saturated and washed out.

Does anybody have any idea of how to compress a video file and maintain the colours anywhere near the uncompressed version at all?
