I was wondering if anyone knew a good use for the “preserve transparency” switch. In the manual is says you could use it for light passes on text and such. Why wouldn’t you just use a track matte (or “stencil alpha”) for that?

I guess it’s just easier to click one button than set up a matte. Maybe it has some other purpose other than that. I don’t know. I’m just guessing.
