Preparing Video for Output
Hi There!
At the Moment I am editing a TV-Documentary in FCP 7 and there is one thing that keeps bugging me:
If I try to move on or more clips fcp keeps saying “Preparing Video for Output”. That is really very timeconsuming!I work with different formats, because we use a lot of archive material in DV-resolution and also Still images and I read in other Posts, that this could be the problem.
But I still don’t know how I could fix my problem…Nesting is not a good option for me, because as soon as I want to change something, I have to do it in a sub Sequenz and I really don’t like to work that way.
Is there any other option to cope with that problem? Thanks!

Preparing video for display?
That sounds to that your Mac is short of RAM.
If you are using lot of stills, increase the “Still Cache”.
Keep only one sequence open in FC.
Close other applications.
In any case, nesting would not only not help but could make things harder.
