I’m having a problem creating proper paths in Photoshop. Here’s my problem.
I create a text in photoshop. I then select all the letters and create a work path from the selection.
Next, I export the path as an illustrator file. Finally, I open the illustrator file in my 3D editing program as a 3D model. This is the same technique I’ve used with basic shapes, but when using text I’m having this problem: the letters are closed, they’re solid shapes. For example, the letter “o” is a solid filled circle, the letter “d” has the round part of the letter filled in. So my question is, how do I prepare my paths so that the letters have the proper areas “cut out” as needed, and are not filled completely around their outer edges? Or, is this a problem I need to fix in Illustrator? Thanks in advance.
PS – before anyone asks, this is text I can not make in Illustrator, it needs to be made in Photoshop only for design reasons, and my own limited knowledge of how to use Illustrator.
