How do I import one or more Photoshop files into project, with each layer available to me on the timeline to work with individually?

    File>Import>Multiple Files
select your PSD, click OK… then a new box will pop up.
Click “Choose Layer” and choose the layer u want to import and at the bottom of that sam dialog choose either Layer Size or Document size… when u click OK it will send back to the Folder Browser… just keep doing that until u get all the layers u want into AE

A quicker way would be to go file>import then select your file, but next to import as: pick composition. IT usually imports it as ‘footage’. if you do ‘composition, you’ll get a comp with the layers.

The first way mentioned is probably right. But a quicker way would be to do a regular import, and select multiple files (shift-click or command-click…) As for what Ben mentioned, Norman is talking about importing multiple files, not a multi-layered photoshop file…

    Hope that help,
